CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - If you are using the Internet to book your travel for the holidays, make sure you do your homework.
Many travel sites offer a best price guarantee and promise to refund the difference to match any lower price you can find.
Some airlines, like Delta, offer a travel voucher for up to $100. The deals all seem like super offers, but you have to make sure you follow through and get your money's worth.
Consumer Reports' Money Editor Greg Daughtery points out that some of the 'deals' mean taking advantage immediately.
"For instance, to collect on the price guarantee with Expedia, you have to file your claim within '24 hours' of booking. With American, it's midnight the same day. So, even if the price drops a couple of days later, you're out of luck," Daughtery says.
Consumer Reports recommends sites like airfarewatchdog.com and Kayak for the best prices. Happy Travels!
