Good News: Firetruck, soldier letters and Millionaire

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Today's Good News is a triple treat!

Let's start off in Huntersville where construction crews carefully guided a firetruck inside a new building. Discovery Place KIDS is about a year from being complete. The building will house hands-on exhibits for kids. The firetruck was added Monday morning and the rest of the building will be built around it.

From Huntersville, we head to Mountain Island Elementary School where 3rd graders were busy writing letters to troops overseas. The kids are part of a program to send more gratitude to our men and women in the armed forces. Simple notes of "thank you" were jazzed up with drawings of American flags and hearts.

And last but not least, Jehan Shamsid-Deen is appearing on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" again! This time, the Charlotte native will go for the grand prize in the "Tournament of Ten". Shamsid-Deen won $250,000 back in October and is now the 1st ranked seed in the upcoming show. Shamsid-Deen's segment will air next week on WBTV.
