CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - After a problem with airing the live performance of the Avett Brothers on The David Letterman Show Monday night, WBTV will re-air the entire song in three newscasts starting this evening.
During the Letterman appearance, a commercial accidentally appeared, interrupting part of the Concord band's performance on WBTV and another CBS station in Charleston, S.C.
WBTV will re-air the full video during the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. news tonight and during the 6 a.m. news Wednesday.
"WBTV deeply apologizes to all of the Avett Brothers fans and our entire audience for our mishap last night," said WBTV General Manager Nick Simonette. "Please rest assured that we are investigating the cause of the problem and when it is determined exactly why the problem occurred we will do everything in our power to make sure a problem like that does not happen again."
Charlotte Fire Station No. 4, on West Fifth Street, is a squat, red brick building that was completed in 1926. Designed by Charlotte-based architect Charles Christian Hook, it served uptown until 1972.More >>
