SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) - His hands get sweaty, he takes a deep breath and a last minute hit to his pitch pipe. Neal Wilkinson is ready to sing for 60,000 people.
This week at a Cincinnati Reds game, the Salisbury man set the crowd on fire with his rendition of The Star Spangled Banner.
While he was nervous, it certainly wasn't Neal's first time in front of such a large crowd. He's been singing since he was 5. He's performed at 4 Major League baseball games and once at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
Neal grew up signing Gospel music and still, it's his favorite. But when the announcer booms his name over the loudspeakers and he puts the mic to his lips, he sings the song from high to low without one single flaw. "Knock on wood," Neal says to that.
