CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Lauren Thrift used to waste tons of paper napkins on her 6 and 8 year old boys.
Thrift came up with an idea to save money and give a little boost to the environment with cloth napkins.
Using pieces of found and donated fabric, Thrift sewed more than 200 napkins. The idea caught on with her sons school, Charlotte Latin. Thrift's sons took the cloth napkins to school and have provided enough for 8 classes of kids.
The idea here, is not to save the world, but to just help out a little. Thrift says saving one paper napkin a day for 8 classes of kids will equal 40,000 paper napkins in one school year.
