CHESTER, SC (WBTV) - Currance's Family Restaurant has been a 7-day-a-week staple for the Chester community for more than 20 years.
The woes of the economy have hurt sales, but not as much as other area restaurants. Owner Thomas Currance says he got an idea one night from God.
Currance says God told him to close his doors three days a week in order to send business to other restaurants.
It's not that Currance is so far in the black, he can spare the money, he just wants to spread a message to others: "Better to give than to receive."
Will the lost revenue hurt his restaurant? Currance says he doesn't worry about it, he simply prays.
