Many NC state-run websites crash Monday

RALEIGH, NC (WRAL) - Several state government Web sites were down for nearly three hours Monday because of connection issues, WRAL-TV in Raleigh reported Monday.

The sites and the email servers for the state that suffered the outage included those of: the North Carolina Employment Security Commission, the Department of Transportation, the General Assembly and the Department of Justice.

Danny Lineberry, a spokesman for the state Office of Information Technology Services, told WRAL that the problem meant hit-or-miss connections for those trying to access sites.

WRAL reported that MCNC, a Research Triangle Park company that hosts the state web sites, was still investigating the problem late Monday afternoon.
