Woman slams car into backhoe in Gastonia

GASTONIA, NC (WBTV) - A woman had to be rushed to the hospital after flipping her car Wednesday morning in Gastonia.

The accident happened on Bessemer City Road at Overhead Bridge Road around 8:48 a.m.

The Gastonia Fire Department tells us the driver lost control of the vehicle and flipped several times before striking a backhoe.

Firefighters had to remove the victim through the rear window.

The woman suffered non-life threatening injuries.  She was taken to Gaston Memorial Hospital to be checked out.

The Gastonia Police Department is still trying to determine what caused the crash.
