ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) - The Junior Woman's Club of Rock Hill includes a sneaky trio of ladies leaving pink toilets all over town.
Libby Love, Krista Howell, and Dr. Misty Konow met Wednesday morning with toilet in tow. They carted the 30 pound porcelain pot out of the car and into an unsuspecting victim's yard.
The idea is to embarrass the victims into making a donation or a reverse-ransom to remove the toilet from the prying eyes of neighbors.
So far, the group has raised more than $1,500 not for laughs, but for a worthy and very personal cause. The JWC lost a president to breast cancer, that's why the yard decoration is painted pink. Dr. Konow is a cervical cancer survivor. All three know the devastation cancer can cause.
The money raised is going to The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Each time the toilet is dropped off, it includes instructions on how to get it removed. The recipient must specify another yard deserving of the trophy, as well as pay a "removal fee".
