"Speak Out" is an expression of opinion from the Editorial Board of WBTV, and is presented by General Manager, Nick Simonette.
The BIG SWITCH to digital television is only days away.
On June 12th, local broadcast television stations, including WBTV, will stop transmitting analog, over-the-air signals.
If you have cable or satellite service, you're fine.
However, if you have an antennae or a TV without a digital tuner, you'll need to get a converter box.
You may have heard that coupons for the converter boxes had run out.
Well, the good news is, they're available again.
And if you HAVE received a coupon, but it's expired, you can now apply for a replacement.
Just go to dtv-2009-dot-gov...or, you can call 1-888-DTV-2009.
You also have a few other options:
Buy a TV with a digital tuner...
OR
Subscribe to cable or satellite service.
The day is almost here! Do not delay.
For more information, go to wbtv.com and click on The DTV Transition.
Because WBTV is "On Your Side," we encourage everyone to "Speak Out" - tell us what YOU think. SpeakOut@wbtv.com.
