Speak Out: Keep The Faith

Posted: Updated:

"Speak Out" is an expression of opinion from the Editorial Board of WBTV, and is presented by General Manager, Nick Simonette.

We concluded a recent editorial on the sour economy with the phrase "Keep the Faith." We believe that things will get better.

Two days ago, members of our Jewish community remembered the faith of their  forefathers as the Passover celebration began. This weekend, millions of Christians in America and around the world celebrate their holiest of days, Good Friday and Easter.

Christians believe that Jesus Christ came into this world as God's only Son...sacrificed His life in atonement for man's sins...and was resurrected as an example of God's plan for His followers.

It's not a coincidence that Easter takes place as Spring arrives. It's a time of renewal, fresh hope, and anticipation of good things to come.

This Spring, we're faced with monumental challenges. More difficult days lie ahead for our nation and our local communities. Your family may not been directly affected, but chances are you know a family that has and you may still be concerned that yours could be at some point.

But Passover and Easter remind us there is a greater power we can turn to for strength, guidance, and comfort. We know that, over time, good will win out, evil cannot prevail, and that, ultimately, a better life lies ahead.

As an Editorial Board, we understand that you may not share these particular beliefs. But to those who do, we say "Happy Easter." And to all our viewers, whatever your religious affiliation, we say again, "Keep the Faith."

Because WBTV is "On Your Side," we encourage everyone to "Speak Out" - tell us what YOU think. SpeakOut@wbtv.com
