Tornado Warnings in Alexander, Caldwell, Iredell, and Rowan Counties

A line of severe storms moves across the Carolinas spawning several possible tornadoes.

The National Weather Service issued tornado warnings for four counties in the WBTV viewing area: Alexander, Caldwell, Iredell, and Rowan Counties.  The last warning expired around 10 o'clock.

Tornado watches will remain in effect until 1 AM for Caldwell, Iredell, Rowan, Davie, McDowell, Burke, Catawba, and Alexandier counties.

In South Carolina, Chester and York Counties tornado watches will stay in effect until 1 AM as well.

In these severe weather situations The National Weather service urges you to:

* Move to the lowest level of your home or building.

*If you are in a car, or outside, lie flat in a nearby ditch and cover your head.

*Stay away from windows.

*If you are in a mobile home, leave and go to the lowest floor of a nearby sturdy building.
