A major study on life expectancy yields some surprising results.

Women's life expectancy declined significantly in 180 US counties, especially the deep south and Appalachia.

In the counties, the average age of death for women fell one-point-three years between 1993 and 1999.

In another 780 counties, it fell by half a year.

The average life expectancy for women is currently 79-and-a-half years old.

The chain is pulling plastic bottles that contain bisphenol-A or BPA off the shelves.
