We're learning more about an officer assaulted in Charlotte's Dilworth area Wednesday night.

We now know the suspect began attacking the officer, then hit other officers when they came to help.

The other officers were not seriously hurt, but the first officer was taken to the hospital with facial injuries.

Police say they shocked the suspect with a taser to get him to stopk, then took him into custody.
