City Takes First Step to Redevelop Eastland Mall

Charlotte City Council is taking steps to redevelop Eastland Mall.

Council just gave the city manager permission to spend $75,000 to look into buying the old Belk property at the mall.

The final purchase price would be about $3.5 million.

This is the first step to completely redeveloping the mall property into a mixed use development with housing, shopping and open spaces.
