Shred to Protect from Identity Theft

Charlotte Mecklenburg Police say a paper shredder is one way to protect yourself from identity theft.

Dozens brought their documents to University City for free shredding during 'Shred it' today.

Detectives say never give out personal banking information, either over the phone or the internet, and shred charge receipts, credit applications and bank statements.
