CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A viewer wrote See, Click, Fix concerned about the sidewalk on East Tremont Avenue near Springdale Avenue.

A lot of folks use this sidewalk.

We found two potential trouble spots not far from one another.

The first looked more like a step rather than a sidewalk.  It was very uneven.  We used a tape measure to gauge the difference:  A little more than three inches.  Pretty significant.

And just a few feet from there, a broken section of sidewalk.

We measured part of it as well.  It was very uneven.  At least three and a half inches.

Do these areas need repairing?

Bernice Antonio certainly thinks so.  She says when she's been out walking, her foot has caught at the end of the uneven portion of the sidewalk and she's almost fallen.

Antonio told me she never went down completely.  She says she watches very carefully now and would like to see the sidewalk repaired.

Under city guidelines, a sidewalk has to be determined to be hazardous before it can be repaired.

I contacted the Charlotte Department of Transportation and asked them to take a look at the sidewalk on Tremont.  I got an immediate response and they're looking into the matter.

Of course, we'll let you know what we find out.

Because of the low temperatures during the winter there isn't a lot of sidewalk work being done.  So even if engineers do determine the sidewalk is hazardous, it could be awhile before any repairs are made.
