CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A one-story commercial office building in south Charlotte was damaged by fire early Tuesday morning.

The fire was at 517 South Sharon Amity Road and it was reported around 1:45 a.m.

Nearly 50 firefighters were called to the scene and it took them more than an hour to control the blaze.  They had the fire under control by 2:53 a.m., a fire official said.

No one was injured by the fire.

An official said the fire appears to have originated on the side where Charlotte Behavior Health Associates is located.  The fire caused only smoke damage to the other part of the building where Saussy Burbank is located.

As of Tuesday afternoon, an official said the cause of the fire was still under investigation.
