CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police say a vandal or vandals destroyed more than $3,000 worth of property at an elementary school in Charlotte earlier this week.
The vandalism occurred at Nathaniel Alexander Elementary School which is located at 7910 Neal Road. A school official discovered the vandalism on Monday, Nov. 23. just before 7 a.m.
According to a report filed with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the vandal(s) used rocks to smash the windows to six mobile classrooms on campus.
The vandal(s) also discharged fire extinguishers which destroyed many of the items in the room including computers, printers and other electronic items.
Police said there was a footprint on one of the windows in which the vandal kicked out. The shoe print was of a Nike Air Force One shoe tread.
In one of the rooms, the vandal(s) dumped hand sanitizer on the desks. There was also graffiti on the doors and walls. In one area, the vandal drew a smiley face and wrote "LOL, Yeah, Yeah."
