This is Cassie from Carolyn Kurth
Izzy (also known as Isabel) from Laura BriggsCHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - After Kristen Miranda reported a new way for dog owners to figure out just what kind of K-9 they own -- with a Doggie DNA test -- WBTV decided to give away 3 kits to lucky viewers.
So, three dogs in our area will now know (well, actually their owners will know) exactly what breed of dog they are.
The lucky winners are:
Carolyn Kurth of Fort Mill
Laura Briggs of Belmont
Lisa Matthews of Charlotte
Carolyn Kurth says this about her dog:
"Cassie is a rescue dog from Mitchell County Animal Rescue, Spruce Pine, NC, in January 2005. She has had a very hard life before I picked her face out from Petfinders.com and fell in love. She had a broken jaw, teeth hanging out, and a prior hip fracture. My husband and I spoil her to death but she is the quietest, best watch dog and smartest dog I've ever seen."
Carolyn added: "She is approx. 18 lbs and has a relatively long body compared to her shorter legs. We believe she is possibly a Cairn Terrier mix as she has part of the appearance and also the exact temperament."
Laura Briggs was excited to win, because she almost didn't enter!
She had a hard time deciding which of her dogs to have checked with the DNA test:
"...but I think I have to pick the one even the vet wasn't sure what all she was made up of...he did put on her papework that she is some sort of Corgi mix. Her name is Isabel, of course we call her Izzy most of the time."
