SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) - Three people were shot at a home in Salisbury late Thursday night.
According to the Salisbury Police Department, witnesses said Dennis Alexander, 24, walked into a house on S. Jackson Street and shot Darryl Price and Raylin Woodruff.
Price and Woodruff fired back, striking Alexander several times. While running out of the house, Price and Woodruff accidentally fired at each other.
"One individual actually shot his buddy, he just turned around and shot, not knowing who was behind him, ended up shooting his buddy, though he's not critically injured," said Chief Mark Wilhelm with the Salisbury Police Department.
Alexander was in critical condition at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center Friday morning. Price and Woodruff were treated and released for their gunshot wounds.
Police don't know why Alexander came to shoot Price and Woodruff. At this time, investigators don't believe the shooting was gang related.
Police are looking into a possible connection between his shooting and a shooting that took place on Sunday afternoon.
In that incident a church bus full of church members drove through a gun fight near the Civic Park Apartments.
At least two bullets hit the First Calvary Baptist Church bus, one bullet ended up inside. No one was hurt.
As of late Friday police did not say that the two incidents were connected, but did admit they were looking into the possibility.
