CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - U.S. Congressional representative Sue Myrick (R-NC) is weighing in about Muslims in the military after a shooting at Fort Hood left 13 dead and nearly 30 hurt.
Charged in the case is a life-long Muslim, Army Major Nadil Malik Hassan, who was said to have opposed the war in Iraq and Afghanistan before allegedly going on the shooting spree.

Myrick, in her words, believes it's time to stop being politically correct, because she's worried about Muslims infiltrating the military.
"I really and truly feel very strongly that we've got to look at this in a different light," Myrick told WBT News Friday morning. "And we've got to look to look at the breakdown between our intelligence in this country and the military, because this isn't the first time this kind of thing has happened in the military."
The Associated Press reported that an imam from a mosque Hasan regularly attended said Hasan, a lifelong Muslim, was a committed soldier, gave no sign of extremist beliefs and regularly wore his uniform at prayers.
Soldiers who witnessed the rampage reported that the gunman shouted "Allahu Akbar!" - an Arabic phrase for "God is great!" - before opening fire, said Lt. Gen. Robert Cone, the base commander.
Myrick says she plans to share her concerns with the house intelligence committee, of which she is a member.
Myrick has also written the foreword for a new book, "Muslim Mafia" which warns of a Muslim conspiracy to support Islamic terrorism in the United States.
"America is asleep to the danger that confronts us," writes Myrick. "Since the 1960s, there has been a concerted effort on the part of radical Islamists to infiltrate our major institutions. Front groups of terror now operate openly in our country, comprising a network of support for jihadists."
She finishes the foreword with: "We Americans must wake up before it is too late!"
