CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police discovered marijuana at a Charlotte house after responding to a security alarm call Tuesday morning.
Officers went to a home at 6327 Derryfield Drive after an alarm was activated. Police think it may have malfunctioned.
When the cops, the door was ajar and they entered to check on the welfare of the people inside.
Police say they discovered marijuana plants in the house.
Officers are trying to obtain a search warrant so they can go back to the house to do a more thorough search of the property.
A police sergeant who walked around to the back yard said he saw a marijuana plant that had been uprooted and the roots were placed in a bag.
Cops took a 19-year-old who lived at the house into custody and police say the teen's mother could also face charges.
