LANCASTER, SC (WBTV) -  The Lancaster Police Department now have in custody a teen who they say admitted setting fire at the Lancaster County courthouse and the Solicitor's office in early August.

The police department announced details of the arrest Friday morning.

Martavious Semaj Carter, 17, has been charged with two counts of arson in connection with a fire which destroyed the historic Lancaster County courthouse on August 3rd and another fire which damaged the Solicitor's office on August 7th.

Authorities arrested Carter Thursday night.  Police say he forced an elderly woman into the trunk of her car.  Then, he abandoned her car in an isolated area off Barr Street.

In addition to Thursday night's robbery, Carter has been charged with 4 other counts of robbery, 4 counts of carjacking and 2 counts of kidnapping.

Detectives think he robbed a woman at the law offices of Gregory & Gregory on August 21st.  They also think he robbed two people at the post office on September 4th and 11th.  The fourth robbery involved a male victim at the Founders Federal Credit Union on September 16th.
