Legislative fiscal officials say the wages of North Carolina's workers haven't grown as fast as originally forecast.
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Police in Greensboro have arrested four 17-year-olds in connection with three robberies from people trying to sell items through Craigslist. A statement from police says the four are facing multiple charges, including larceny from the person and conspiracy to commit a felony. The four are from High Point.
OAK ISLAND, N.C. (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard has rescued 10 people after their pontoon boat began taking on water southeast of Bald Head Island. A statement from the Coast Guard says the boaters were en route to Bald Head Island Thursday when waves swamped their boat and one boater fell overboard.
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - The federal government plans to use sound blasting to conduct research on the ocean floor along most of the East Coast. It will be using technology similar to that which spawned a court battle between environmentalists and researchers in New Jersey this summer. Environmentalists say it could harm marine life.
