CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Utilities officials in Charlotte are looking for the source of a problem which has left about 50,000 homes and businesses with low water pressure. The utility said engineers believe the low pressure is caused by a leak or a valve problem but it's still unclear how many areas are affected.

BOONE, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina police say there is no evidence that an Appalachian State University student was killed, adding that the subject of a week-long search was intent on harming herself. Authorities say the body of 18-year-old Anna Smith was found in heavy woods off the campus over the weekend but that there's no evidence she was the victim of a homicide.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - New Hanover County authorities say the former roommate of a man whose body was found on a local road in 2009 has been indicted in connection with his death. Local media outlets report 52-year-old Larry Karl Gonzales has been indicted for first-degree murder in the death of Alton Corey Vann.

SUPPLY, N.C. (AP) - The N.C. Highway Patrol says a 17-year-old was killed and seven others were injured after the pickup truck they were riding in hit a ditch on a Brunswick County road. Reports indicate 17-year-old Tyrus Johnston of Shallotte died of injuries he suffered in the accident on Holden Beach Road in Supply.
