RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WMBF/WIS) – A Conway man has been charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor under the age of eleven after deputies say he assaulted his friend's daughter.

Deputy Chris Wilson with the Richland County Sheriff's Office said Robert Anthony Miller, 46, turned himself in to the Richland County Sheriff's office Wednesday in connection to a 2007 assault.

According to Wilson, Miller and others were tailgating at a RV park on Rosewood Drive and Assembly Street in Richland County in November of 2007 the night before the University of South Carolina and University of Florida football game.

Miller is allegedly the friend of the victim's father, and the girl's father discovered his daughter had been assaulted after reading her journal.

Wilson said the victim wrote Miller waited until everyone was asleep before he assaulted her.

Her father contacted law enforcement after he read the journal entry.

Miller is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
