CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police have arrested and charged 4 men with killing a man during an attempted drug robbery in southwest Charlotte.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says 26-year-old Derek Dominick Roman was shot and killed during an armed robbery on November 18.

Police say the suspects, 22-year-old Willie Junior Lenon, 19-year-old Zachary Tyler Rogers, 27-year-old Shea Michael Cook, and 25-year-old Jonathan Maurice Smith, were involved in a drug transaction with Roman and decided to rob rather than pay him.
Police speculate that Roman was shot after he resisted. Investigators did not say what kind of drug Roman was trying to sell.
It happened on the 3rd floor of 8925 Lenox Pointe Drive in the Colonial Grand at Ayrsley Apartments, which are not far from South Tryon Street. Police received the call around 6:30 p.m. from a neighbor who checked inside Roman's apartment after noticing that the door was left open.
All four suspects are charged with murder, armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
