LINCOLN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Sheriff's deputies have charged a nude man who was involved in a gunfight at a church in Lincoln County on Friday.
Sheriff's deputies were called to Fellowship Baptist Church at 1920 Maiden-Salem Road on Saturday around noon.
When deputies arrived, they found Jeremiah Roosevelt Blackburn, 49, nude on the porch of the church. A second man was taking cover behind a pickup truck located in the church parking lot.
The sheriff's office said both men were armed with weapons, but neither was hit during the exchange of gunfire.
Blackburn was standing nude with his back against the front wall of the church and he was staring straight ahead. There was a .32 revolver in front of him lying on the porch.
The sheriff's office says Blackburn attempted to grab his gun and that's when deputies deployed a taser. Several deputies then forced Blackburn onto the ground and restrained him.
Blackburn was charged with Assault With a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill. He is being held on a $50,000 secured bond at the Lincoln County Jail.
