Man ambushes clerk and uses stun gun in attempted robbery

HICKORY, NC (WBTV) - Police have arrested at Taylorsville man who allegedly used a stun gun on a store clerk during an attempted robbery in Hickory Tuesday morning. 

The robbery happened at the Dollar General store at 2635 North Center Street around 7:51 a.m.

According to the Hickory Police Department, Anthony Sines ambushed the clerk outside as she was leaving the store.

He used a stun gun on the victim numerous times while she was struggling with him over her purse. 

A witness heard the victim screaming and yelled at Sines who ran away. 

Tuesday afternoon, police located Sines at a home in Catawba County.  Officers deployed a taser while trying to apprehend Sines when he attempted to run away.  He has been charged with attempted common law robbery.

Police also arrested Kelly Marie Moore, of 313 Fair Acres Lane, Taylorsville.  She has been charged with aid and abet common law robbery.
