CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A tractor trailer which flipped over a guardrail onto an interstate in north Charlotte caused a major backup for commuters early Friday morning.
A semi truck hauling paper and ink was originally on Reagan Drive which runs parallel to I-85.
The truck flipped over the guardrail and ended up on I-85 affecting traffic heading northbound.
At one time, three of the four northbound lanes of I-85 were shut down, but all four lanes were reopened by 8 a.m.
Still, traffic was backed up as far south as the I-77 and I-85 interchange with vehicles waiting to get onto northbound I-85.
The highway patrol charged the driver of the semi-truck with reckless driving.
