
CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Hundreds of students in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, got a big surprise when school supplies were delivered to their classrooms.
The donation, part of a 7th anniversary celebration with Classroom Central.
The organization donated more than $46,000 worth of supplies to several classrooms this morning. The students got notebooks, pens, pencils, tab dividers, pocket folders and pencil cases.
Teachers got supplies as well.
Karen Calder, with Classroom Central, say it is emotional to watch all their hard work finally come to a head.
"Oh my gosh, it just fills you up so much," says Calder. "It's all worth it when you see these kids faces"
The supplies were split between two different schools; Thomasboro Elementary and Druid Hills Elementary.
In addition to supplies, students also had a birthday cake party.
