LAURINBURG, N.C. (AP) - A free dental clinic is seeing hundreds of patients at a North Carolina church.
The Laurinburg Exchange reports the 2-day clinic at Stewartsville Baptist Church will likely help more than 400 people by the time it finished Saturday.
Sheila Hunt lost her health care insurance after she was laid off and her current part-time job doesn't offer it. She says she wouldn't be able to go to the dentist without the clinic's help.
Missions of Mercy is helping run the clinic, and Nancy Slott says the people volunteering their time also try to bond with the people they are helping.
