ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) - Tom Fuller has been a whiz with buzz saws and dove-tail joints for a long time. The 69 year-old Rock Hill man has built several pieces of furniture that each require hundreds of intricate cuts and dozens of minute details.
Tom performs each pain-staking task, without the luxury of sight.
He started losing his vision years ago. He's now considered legally blind. With tools and tricks he's come up with on his own, Tom works around his vision loss and continues to plug away at making things with wood.
Recently, he made a gun cabinet for his daughter. The 8 foot tall piece took him 2 years to finish. But he finished it. Looking at the black walnut chest, you wouldn't ever know the man who built it, can't see it.
