First Alert declared for Friday ahead of possible severe weather

First Alert Forecast: Tuesday, April 16 @4pm

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - It may be beautiful right now, but springtime in the South can turn on us quickly. A new cold front will be moving our way and could make for a stormy Friday - so we have issued a First Alert.

Out ahead of it, you will notice the temperature and humidity levels increasing through Wednesday and Thursday. However, as of now, those two days will end up mainly dry. The actual front will move through on Friday and will likely produce storms – some could be strong to severe.

It is still early so we will continue to watch this through the rest of the week. We just wanted to alert you that plans may need to be altered on Good Friday (when more people may be off and have plans) due to storms.

We will keep you posted!
