Nation Ford falls to Mauldin

FORT MILL, SC (WBTV) - For a while, it looked like Nation Ford was poised to head to the South Carolina AAAAA Upper State Championship game but the Falcons blows an 11 point halftime lead as they fell to Mauldin 79-75.

The Falcons got off to a cold start but found their way late in the first quarter and grabbed a one point lead on a buzzer beating lay up to end the first by Malik Bryant.

Nation Ford would start the 2nd quarter with a 13-2 run to go up 12. Bryant, Sean McCabe, and Shaman Alston all had buckets during that run as it looked like the Falcons were getting ready to take flight to the Upper State Championship game on Saturday.

Down 11 at the break, Mauldin would get their act together in the 2nd half and would come away with the 79-75 win.

The Mavericks will take on Dorman Saturday in the AAAAA Upper State title game.

Nation Ford’s season ends at 25-6.
