Worker rescued after falling down well near NC/SC state line

Charlotte Water contractor injured in fall at NC/SC border

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A contractor with Charlotte Water was rescued Tuesday morning after falling down a well at a site near the North Carolina-South Carolina state line.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. at the Clems Branch Pump Station Project, which is near Harrisburg Road at the state line. According to officials, the worker fell about 40 feet. Pineville, Charlotte, and Pleasant Valley Fire Departments all responded to the scene to help with the rescue.

Pineville Firefighters retweeted a tweet from Meck Fire Wire stating the victim may have suffered a broken leg.

Just before 12 p.m., officials said the man had been rescued. There is no word on his condition and his name has not been released.

Officials have not said how the man may have fallen. No further details have been made available.
