MURDOCK Study to celebrate first decade on Saturday

KANNAPOLIS, NC (WBTV) - The Kannapolis-based MURDOCK Study is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

All study participants are invited to the MURDOCK Study 10th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, Feb. 16 at the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis. The event will take place in the David H. Murdock Research Institute (Core Lab Building), located at 150 N. Research Campus Drive.

Participants can drop in anytime between 9 and 11 a.m. to enjoy refreshments, take a walk down memory lane, and have their picture taken in the photo booth. Dr. Kristin Newby, the principal investigator for the MURDOCK Study, will give brief remarks at 10 a.m.

Participants will also be able to talk with study leaders and learn about new research opportunities, as well as share why they joined the MURDOCK Study and why they are committed to following up every year. Community partners dedicated to health and wellness will host free information tables.

The event is hosted by Duke Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). Duke CTSI’s Translational Population Health Research group, or TransPop, manages the MURDOCK Study.
