Suspects arrested after police chase in stolen vehicle on I-77

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Two men were arrested after leading officers on a police chase and crashing a stolen vehicle late Monday night.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers say they located the stolen vehicle on I-77 near the I-277 exit just before midnight. The vehicle refused to stop, leading police on a “fairly lengthy pursuit.”

The vehicle ended up crashing on Beatties Ford Road near Cindy Lane. The vehicle ended up rolling over after hitting a curb while speeding, police say. No other cars were involved in the crash.

The two men exited the vehicle and were both arrested. The first suspect was cooperative and was arrested without incident. The driver resisted arrest and was bitten by a CMPD K-9, receiving minor injuries.

The driver was transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The vehicle the suspects were driving was stolen in Charlotte on Jan. 29.
