CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - After a super weekend across the WBTV viewing area, get set for even warmer weather in the week ahead. Mostly sunny skies today and Tuesday with afternoon temperatures in the low 70s, 20° above average for early February. As a weak cool front to our north tries to ooze in from Virginia, there could be a stray shower or two Wednesday evening following another day in the low 70s. Most of the rain appears to be confined to the mountains.
By Thursday we’ll have the warmest day of the week as south winds really kick up ahead of our next front. Expect readings in the mid to upper 70s during the afternoon before the front swings through Friday with a couple of showers. At this point, I’m forecasting 77° in Charlotte Thursday. That would shatter the standing record of 74° set back in 1999.
Behind it, temperatures finally retreat back to average readings in the 50s with lows in the 30s for next Saturday and Sunday.
Enjoy the warm week ahead!
