CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A 16-year-old was arrested in connection to a shooting Saturday night in Lancaster that left another teenager seriously injured.

Draevious Jakeim Mingo was charged with attempted murder and use of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Lancaster police says they responded to a home on French Street Saturday shortly after 9 p.m. and located several unaccompanied minors inside. The victim was suffering from a serious gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital by a helicopter. The teen remains in serious but stable condition.

An investigation later revealed the shooting was intentional and not a result of negligence as they initially believed. Officials have not said what happened before the shooting.

Mingo remains in custody at the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbua.
