IREDELL COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Deputies with Iredell County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in search of a man with outstanding warrants from multiple counties.

Officials received information that Stephen Styron was at a home on Rinehardt Road. When officials arrived at the home, Brian Richard Harwell answered the door and advised deputies that Styron was not there, a release from Iredell County Sheriff’s Office stated.

Deputies asked to search the home before Harwell told them he needed to check with another occupant inside the home first. Officials say after several minutes, Harwell returned and allowed deputies inside.

Once inside, officials say they located Styron hiding inside a bedroom closet. He was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center.

Harwell was also arrested for felony obstruction of justice, misdemeanor harboring a fugitive and misdemeanor resisting a public officer.
