ALEXANDER COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Officers with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Taylorsville Police Department, have taken an individual into custody who is believed to have crashed his vehicle into an Alexander County home on January 23.
Marquis Alexander Shuford, 32, was arrested after a vehicle stop in on East Main St. in Taylorsville led officers to identify his car as a potential suspect vehicle involved with the hit-and-run. The accident, which occurred on Piney Grove Rd., had caused $35,000 in damage to the property.
Shuford has been charged with two counts of driving while license revoked, one count of hit-and-run/fail to stop for property damage, one count of damage to personal property, one count of damage to real property and one count of failure to report an accident.
Shuford is being held at the Alexander County Detention Center and is scheduled to first appear in court on March 4.
