CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Carolina Panthers continued signing their own free agents on Tuesday as they signed back up tight end Chris Manhertz to a 2 year deal.

Manhertz is primarily a blocking tight end but scored his first touchdown this past season in week 15 against the New Orleans Saints.

He has played in 36 games in his 2 years with the Panthers with one start. He has 4 career catches for 63 yards.

Manhertz played basketball in college and did not pick up football until he left Canisius and signed with Buffalo as an undrafted free agent. He spent one year with the Bills before moving on to New Orleans in 2015. He would finally land in Carolina in 2016.
