2 drivers, shooting victim, 3-year-old involved in four-car wreck in Gastonia

GASTONIA, NC (WBTV) - A four-car wreck sent four people to the hospital including two drivers, a shooting victim and a 3-year-old in Gastonia Thursday morning.

According to the Gastonia Police Department, the incident happened at the intersection of West Franklin Boulevard and South York Street.

Police say a driver in an Acura was driving on South York Street with a shooting victim as a passenger. At the same time, a driver in a Nissan Altima was driving on West Franklin Boulevard, with his 3-year-old son in the vehicle.

Officials say the Acura ran a red light and t-boned the Nissan on the passenger side. The Acura then hit two unoccupied parked vehicles.

All four people involved were taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center. The child was not injured.

Both drivers had minor injuries. The passenger in the Acura is being treated for a gunshot wound that happened in Clover, SC.

Gastonia Police have cited the driver of the Acura, 20-year-old Adrian Robinson, for careless and reckless driving, and operating a vehicle without a license.

There’s no word on what happened in the Clover shooting.
