Charlotte 49ers fall to ODU

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Charlotte 49ers hosted Old Dominion to close out their 3-game homestand at Halton Arena. Charlotte came into Monday’s contest fresh off a win against Louisiana Tech Saturday night, putting the 49ers in position for back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

The 49ers shot forty-four percent in the first half and knocked down 6 from behind the arc to lead by 10 at the half.

Unfortunately, for Charlotte the 2nd half would be a different story. Old Dominion would go on a 32-8 run to start the second half and completely change the momentum of the game.

Senior Jon Davis lead the 49ers today with 30 points, but in the end Charlotte would fall short 76-70 to the Monarchs. The loss puts the 49ers at 5-13 overall this season and 2-5 in C-USA play.

Charlotte travels to Texas for a two-game stretch. The trip begins in San Antonio against the UTSA Roadrunners Thursday night, January 26. Tip-off is slated for an 8 p.m. start.
