16-year-old reported missing back at home in Fort Mill

Missing teenager found safe

FORT MILL, SC (WBTV) - Police say a 16-year-old who was reported missing from Fort Mill Sunday is now home and is safe.

According to the Fort Mill Police Department, officers were trying to locate 16-year-old David Morrison of Fort Mill, South Carolina. Police say David left his residence Friday afternoon.

Just after 9 p.m. Monday, police confirmed David had returned home on his own and was unharmed. There is no word on where the teen may have stayed overnight.

At a press conference on Monday afternoon, David’s parents spoke to the press and publicly pleaded for him to return home.

“David, we love you very much and want you home as quickly as possible. We just want you to know that this is not a situation where you’re in trouble. We just want you go get back home safe.”

David’s mother also stated that several reports of witnesses spotting him over the weekend had been brought to police and that none had been confirmed.

While his parents do not believe that he would have actively sought a ride with a stranger, his father indicated that, “he easily believes people. If you tell him something, he will believe you if you’re an adult."
