CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Belk Arena had a sell out crowd Saturday as Davidson hosted Richmond.
Junior guard KiShawn Pritchett would set the tone early on for the Wildcats. Pritchett was a prefect 5-for-5 from the field and finished with 12 points.
Freshman Luke Frampton would get hot from behind the arc in the first half, knocking down four three pointers to help put the Wildcats up by 10 at halftime.
Frampton would hit four more threes in the second for a total of eight three pointers - just one shy of tying Stephen Curry’s single-game school record - and matched his career high with 24 points in the game.
“This is something we’ve known Luke can do,” said coach Bob McKillop. “He can do this any night. He’s getting better and better. The rust has come off his game.”
Davidson defeated Richmond 75-62, improving to 13-5 overall and 4-1 in the Atlantic 10. Davidson will conclude its homestand Wednesday when George Washington visits Belk Arena for a 7 p.m. contest.
