CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Well after just one day of full sunshine, the clouds will start to roll back in on Thursday. We could see showers by late afternoon to early evening. They shouldn’t be that heavy but could be just enough to be disruptive. That will lead to a really nice Friday though. It should be mainly dry and highs will reach the low 60s.
Saturday should turn out fairly mild by January standards. We will reach the upper 50s. The morning starts out dry, but the shower chances increase later in the day. The heaviest rain will fall overnight before moving out later on Sunday morning. There could be a little rain left around through midday before it moves out and the temperatures fall – like a rock. Because of that, the mountains could pick up some snow if the precipitation hasn‘t moved out before the cold air moves in. We will all see a sharp temperature drop. We should start out in the low 50s. We may reach the mid 50s by around lunch time. Then it will likely be back in the 40s by late afternoon.
The cold air sticks around for MLK Day too. We will be lucky to reach a high of 40°. We still only make it to the mid 40s on Tuesday.
