Man shot in southeast Charlotte store dies at hospital

Man killed in shooting at Charlotte cell phone store

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A homicide investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed inside a cell phone store in southeast Charlotte Monday.

The shooting happened just before 11 a.m. at the FixER cell phone repair store on the 3100 block of N. Sharon Amity Road, near the intersection with Albemarle Road. The victim, identified by police as 29-year-old Elchin Khalilov, was rushed to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

There is no word on a possible motive but police did release a picture of a person-of-interest on Wednesday evening that they are attempting to identify for questioning.
