Police looking for ‘possibly armed’ Huntersville bank robber

Man wanted after bank robbery in Huntersville

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (WBTV) - Police in Huntersville are asking for the public’s help finding a man who robbed a local bank Wednesday afternoon.

The robbery happened around 3:30 p.m. at the First Citizens Bank on Boren Street. Officials have not released many details, but said the robber - who is possibly armed - left the bank on foot heading north, toward Market Square Drive.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools confirmed that nearby Torrence Creek Elementary was placed on lockdown due to the police activity in the area.

Anyone who sees the man pictured or recognizes him is asked to call 911 immediately.
